René Sackett, who has spent 16 years as a farmers market manager and is President of the Slow Food St. Louis chapter, and her husband George love the allure of one of the most popular edible wild mushrooms - the chanterelle. Spend a relaxing evening at the counter, as René and George delight this class with fresh homemade peach soda, caramelized onion and mushroom dip with housemade chips, summer mushroom-chevre tart with fresh corn and cherry tomatoes on puff pastry, homemade fettuccine with grilled chicken and grilled vegetables and chanterelle sauce, tomato salad with pickled mushrooms and mozzarella, plus vanilla bean ice cream with candy cap mushroom caramel sauce.
